Isabel Bingham, MS

Psychology Extern

Isabel Bingham, M.S., is a psychology extern at CBC where she conducts individual, family and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her M.S. in School Psychology from St. John’s University, where she is currently a fourth-year doctoral student. Isabel previously earned an M.A. in clinical psychology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University, and a B.S. in Human Development from Cornell University.

Isabel has received training in providing evidence-based interventions to children, adolescents, and young adults with generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, selective mutism, and ADHD. Isabel has intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and adaptations of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM). Prior to her externship at CBC, Isabel served as a clinical volunteer for intensive selective mutism programs at both CBC and the Child Mind Institute. Isabel has also trained as a student clinician at the St. John’s Center for Psychological Services, where she provided both therapy and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. Previously, Isabel worked as a school psychology extern at Scarsdale Middle School, where she delivered individual and group counseling in addition to parent and teacher consultations.

Isabel is passionate about helping children and families reach their goals using a strengths-based approach. Her doctoral research uses component analysis to examine the role of cognitions used in positive psychology practices in predicting well-being. Isabel is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
