Last week, the CBC team headed down to Washington, D.C., to present at the annual Anxiety & Depression Association of America (ADAA) conference.

Dr. Joseph Taliercio, our Coordinator of Research, organized and led the symposium "Employing Intensive Brief Evidence-Based Treatment Programs to Combat the Current Mental Health Crisis." The following talks and presenters were included in this presentation

  • SAGE-F: A Promising Intensive Outpatient DBT Program for Emerging Adults and Families - by Dr. Suzanne Davino

  • Examining the Immediate Outcomes of Intensive 5-Day and 3-Day Selective Mutism Interventions - by Dr. Rachel Busman, Senior Director, Child and Adolescent Anxiety & Related Disorders Programs

  • A Brief, Intensive, Group-Based Treatment for Adolescents with OCD: Preliminary Results from the Adolescent OCD Intensive Program - by Dr. Lata McGinn, Co-Founder & Co-Director


Dr. Busman and Clinical Social Worker Rachel Lippin-Foster also participated in a case conference on complexity and family involvement in childhood anxiety and OCD.

Dr. McGinn and Dr. William Buerger, Director of Continuing Education, Director of Trauma Program, conducted a workshop on Psychological First Aid to Foster Resilience in the Wake of Traumatic Events.

Dr. Alec Miller, Co-Founder & Co-Director conducted two presentations: "Behind the Veil: Business Tips for Building a Mental Health Private Practice" with Dr. Dina Patel and "Increasing Access by Bringing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) To Schools" with Dr. Mona Potter.

The ADAA conference brings together over 1,100 clinicians and researchers nationwide and worldwide to present on anxiety, depression and co-occurring disorders.
