Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC) is proud to offer our Psychology Internship Program, which offers clinical and school-clinical training tracks. This full-time, 12-month internship is designed for 5th-year doctoral-level graduate students in psychology with experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
All interns will engage in the following activities:
Provide individual CBT and DBT therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Co-lead therapy skills groups alongside licensed clinical staff.
Receive twice-weekly individual supervision with licensed psychologists.
Participate in weekly DBT and bi-weekly CBT consultation teams.
Attend comprehensive training in CBT and DBT, led by CBC co-founders Drs. Alec Miller and Lata McGinn.
Participate in weekly didactic seminars and DBT homework club.
Interns in this track can select from specialized programs such as:
Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Related Disorders
Selective Mutism Groups and Intensives
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Executive Functioning Coaching
The SAGE Program for young adults
OCD intensive program
Social Anxiety Groups
Research and Program Evaluation
This track focuses on the dissemination of evidence-based mental health interventions in schools. CBC currently has training and consultation partnerships with over 100 schools.
Activities include:
Shadowing and co-facilitating school-based training for school staff to implement evidence-based practices with students.
Participating in consultation meetings with school staff to facilitate implementation of Comprehensive DBT (Tier 2 and 3) and/or Universal Classroom DBT (e.g., DBT STEPS-A; Tier 1).

Duration: 12 months
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Locations: Primarily White Plains office, with opportunities for some days in NYC offices.
Enrolled as a 5th-year doctoral-level candidate in clinical, school-clinical, or school psychology.
Prior training in CBT and/or DBT, with an interest in providing these therapies.
For the School-Clinical Track, candidates should have a strong interest in disseminating evidence-based interventions in schools.
